CURATOR'S STATEMENT
ROBERT PASTERNAK understands perspective, spacial relationships and color.
With this knowledge base and the careful skills of an illustrator, he combines parts
of the human anatomy with selective shapes and places them in an imaginative
world foreign to most of us. It is as if his searching, preparation and the creative
process has no ending and contains part of the artist himself.
While the work begins
with the stroke of the pen or brush and there is a certain pattern in the direction, the
outcome is never certain. One section will intertwine another, taking on natural
forms while yet another section may lead off into the abstract.
The viewer will have
to work hard to follow Pasternak's patterns but will definitely enjoy the adventure.
